TGF FFF 12DOS - SKETCH 2

Here is the 2nd sketch from TGF's DT member Mercy Kerin..(http://lordhavemercy-mercykerin.blogspot.com/)

And here's what I came up with...

Remember when you were little and all the rage for Christmas was Christmas plaid? You know the dress was plaid and it matched either ribbon or bow in your hair? Well I had some plaid Christmas paper in my stack and decided to use it for Mercy's cool sketch.
Stamp: Princess Anya
Colored with Copic markers and Sakura gel pens
DP: Paper Pizzaz (Red Tartan)
Punches/die cuts/embossing tools used from Martha Stewart, Cuttlebug and Spellbinders
Red pom pom from Creatology

FFF/12 Days of Sketches - #1

TGF is having a fun sketch challenge right now. 12 in all... The 1st sketch was submitted by TGF's DT member Cyndi Haffner (http://cindyhaffnerscorner.blogspot.com)

Here's my take on it:
"Our boy Sid" is what I call this one.

It's my version of a couple and their little dog whom they adore.. They so adore him that he is an ornament! haha..
Stamps used: TGF Ian (My guy) and Anya (Rain) and the schnauzer from the Pretty Hat sets
Colored with Copic markers and Sakura Gel pens
Cardstock: Hanko Designs & Bazzils
DP: AC Pattern paper (Merrymint)
Punches & Die Cuts: Spellbinders and Stampin' Up.

It's still raining!

Well it's still raining.. Coming down pretty steadily, hope everyone is driving safe and defensive.
I took my markers and a sheet of stamped images with me to my tournament. I figure it would be a great idea to color them during our breaks in order to have them ready to use when I start making Christmas cards. Luckily I am not going to be mailing a lot of them out. And most of them will only take at most 15 minutes to make.
Most will be hand delivered.
Well that's my little bit for tonight. Hope to have more postings tomorrow. G'nite! =)

So.....

Hi Amy & Berenice, Thank you both for your comments! =)
So...
I was saved from getting soaked at Disneyland yesterday. I ended up not going... whew! hahaha.. It was still raining pretty steadily and my friend made the executive decision not to go... I was totally prepared for the weather, and was a little bummed that I wasn't going to Disneyland, but I got over it pretty quickly! =)

Instead I got to stay in and finish a letters project I've been working on for my friend Jenny and her jewelry company called Sesame Bijoux. She wanted something girly and possibly with beads on them and they had to be in purples and silvers, so this is what i came up with... I hope she likes it...
There's a link to her site on my blog check it out...

Supplies:
Letters: purchased at Michaels
Mounted with: Modge Podge (matte finish)
Stamps: Charlotte, Tatiana and Maisy Ketto from Stamping Bella
Papers: Papers used were kept in the purple to silver palette as those are her favorite colors.. Two stamped dp that Jenny made using some lilac paper and some white paper. She used a Stampin' Up roller stamped image (sorry don't know the name of the stamp) and inked it with a metallic purple (sorry I don't know the exact name, but it's almost like a metallic amethyst). Bazzils: glass slipper, tiara purple palisades & puppy love.
Embossed using a couple Cuttlebug embossing folder images and 2 quick cuts images.
Stamps Inked using: Memento Tuxedo Black
Colored with Copics: C5, C3, V17, BV00, E51 & V04
Ribbon: Straight N' Narrow 8mm dark purple (item # NW3729MN)
Accessories: Dark purple and white pearl stickers; silver, cube & bicone shaped beads in light purple, black, clear and dark purple strung up with bead jewelry cord (.5mm from Stretch magic)
Punches: small to large 5 petal punches

I'm a fan..

...of the Los Angeles Lakers! Last night I went to the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA basketball game here in Los Angeles at Staples Center with my mom, younger brother and good friend. We had great seats! Thanks to my younger brother for the invites. The Lakers won in the end and I got inspired to make this card for my mom who is an ultimate Lakers fan:

Supplies used:
Stamp: My guy Ian from TGF (altered ball cap and sweatshirt showing off the Lakers logos, or something similar)
Paper: Marigold yellow and purple pizzaz
Colored with Copics: 100, V17, BV08, Y38 & C1
Accessories: 4 basketball stickers and my ticket from the game..

Well hope you have a good Saturday, I'm heading to play in a co-ed volleyball tournament in a few hours. Should be fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Boo, it's raining

Boo! Well I woke up to rain this morning. After all the beautiful weather we've had the past few days, discounting Monday, I figured it would stay that way.. Bummer... Well it's a good thing, we need rain. Hope everyone remembers how to drive when it's wet...
Here are a couple cards I made over Thanksgiving...

This one is using Flutter Anya from TGF, I just love her! Colored with Copics in shades of light blue to ice blue. The DP is part of the AC merrymint collection, sentiment was cut using the Cricut and the snowflakes punched with an MS punch and blinged out with some rhinestones.. The card itself is cut from a piece of Bazzil Blue Turquoise paper.

Trying to use up the rest of the Bazzil Blue Turqouise & some Fabrique brown paper (also from Bazzil) and another DP from the AC Merrymint collection, I cut out this 4x4 card and used Snow Anya from TGF. I colored her with Copics using shades of brick brown to ice blue and punched 16 snowflakes using my MS punch. Adding a touch of bling to the white ribbon rounds out the details of the card..

Well that's all for now. Getting psyched up to go to Disneyland on this rainy day.. Hope you have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by...

I'm back..

It's been so crazy at work, that I don't have time to make updates. I have the day off tomorrow so I have sometime now.. Let's see it's Thursday and we had rain on Monday and snow on the mtns Tuesday morning. It was a beautiful sight. Wednesday I had a mad dash to finish shopping for our 2nd annual Leader in Me luncheon for the children at the local schools that we sponsor. Got what I needed and then came home to wrap and make two cards for the two kids I was sponsoring.
This first card was for a 1st grader named Joshua. He wanted a new soccer ball and some books. I was bummed I didn't have soccer Ian, but it was for a Christmas present so I used TGF's Santa Ian.. He is super cute.. I made it easy on myself by using some premade cards from DCWV. All I need was to add Santa Ian and some other accessories for dimension.. Here's what I came up with:

The other child I sponsored was a 5th grader named Kelly. Kelly is very smart and talented. She loves to draw, Manga/Anime is what she likes best. She drew a really awesome little Manga girl on her profile page. I had to pick her! Kelly asked for a drawing pad and a computerized note pad (graphic arts use). I wasn't able to get her the note pad, but I did make it up to her by getting her some prismacolored pencils, a couple of different types of drawing pads, a manga pen/pencil drawing set, a set of markers and threw in some Manga drawing books I picked up the last time i was at carpe diem... She enjoyed the who kit and kaboodle... Since she is in to Manga it gave me the great opportunity to use my Manga stamp from Sugar Nellie. I also used another pre-made card from the DCWV stack, punched out some snowflakes, stamped and colored the little girl and cut out a sentiment that reads, "Hangin' out for Santa" Needless to say, Kelly enjoyed all the presents and loved the card... Another satisfied customer... Here's the card I made for Kelly:

Until next time, good nite...

I've only got a minute

Thanks Amy and Joann lovin' the comments.

It's been a couple days and let's see it's rained, and now the sun is out and I can see snow on the mountains! Yes, occasionally we get snow in California, but only in the mountains.. We are expecting more rain for the weekend. There goes my plans for Disneyland on Friday. =(
Well hoping and wishing the weather will stay bright and clear, but if it doesn't will be at home crafting all day, cause I took the day off. =)
Will try to post more later... Have a fabulous day...

Border Punches

Hi! Thanks Amy for your comment! It's a slow process then I thought it would be, but I'm having fun with it. =)

Shopping went well if you call standing in line at Michaels for 30 minutes well.. Luckily I had coupons or else I would have put everything back. Next time will go an hour before they close. The lines aren't as bad. =)

I love punches! For this series of cards, 4 in all, I used two Martha Stewart border punches to use as frames. I used Izzy from the TGF Twinkle Tot series she is just too sweet! I also used Miss Anya and Rain from TGF for the other two cards. All 4 cards were very easy to make. I used a few sheets of dp, brown and white card stock, different colored cards and punched the borders using them as frames for each girl. Using copics to color each girl, the only problem I had was trying to figure out what colors I wanted to use..
"Whatcha Doin?"

Stamp: TGF Twinkle Tot Izzy; colored with Copic markers C1(used to make her dress and hat look white)/E000/E51/R11/RV10/E33/E57 & E77; pastel green card, white cardstock for frame; DP from DCWV Green stack; Martha Stewart border punch; brown scallop rectangle window with sentiment, "Whatcha doin'" in green gel pen
"Sweet & Simple"

Stamp: TGF Twinkle Tot Izzy; colored with Copic markers BG05/V99/E000/E51/R11/RV10/E33/E57 & E77; white card, dark brown card stock "Dad & Me Brocade - Confetti series - by My Minds Eye double sided with ocean blue and kiwi green/white design on opposite side; punch by Martha Stewart; brass brads.
"Nic's Card"

A simple Thank you card for my sister..
Stamp: Miss Anya (altered); Paper: Hanko Kosome blue cardstock, sky polka dots paper from Chatter Box, dark brown cardstock for borders. Punch: Martha Stewart; Ribbon: White satin; colored with Copics C1/C3/C5/C7/E31/B93/E57/E33.
"Passion's card"

Another simple Thank you card this time for my cousin Passion
Stamp: Rain, Snow or Shine; colored with Copics E57/B93/E33/E31; Papers: Bazzil burning ember for card; S-E-I Such a boy polka dots; dark brown cardstock for borders; punch by Martha Stewart

Well day 1 of my blog wasn't so bad... haha.. Let's see what tomorrow will bring..

Getting started...

Day 1 of my new adventure into blogging...
Yes, it's my first time and no I don't know what I'm doing.. hahaha..
Someone very nice told me I should get a blog, so here is my attempt at it.. I do encourage all comments and help as I muddle through this new world.. =)
Let's see, it's a beautiful sunny day in California and what better way to enjoy it then by going shopping and then coming home to do some crafting... Too many Christmas projects to complete and not enough time to do them.. sigh... that is the life of a procrastinator...

Thanks for stopping by, will try to post some pictures up later..
