A Belated Birthday Wish

Good morning!!

Today I'm popping in to share a late birthday card.  Yesterday was my Lollipop teammate, Dena's birthday and I forgot to post it!  I feel bad knowing that I knew when her bday was and still forgot to post. :(  I hope she can forgive me and I hope she enjoyed her very special "ME" day.

Here's something I came up with using Snow White from Saturated Canary

Used black, white and reds with a little bit of green for the leaves on the apples.  Found some gingham black and white paper in my stash and mounted it all on red cs and tied it off with a red ribbon.  Handwrote Happy Birthday! all over the card, then with the help of a square SB I drew in the border.  Oh yea I almost forgot!  There is a black postage stamp behind Snow White.  I'm really lovin' that die.

Hau'oli la Hanau Dena!!  Wishing you all the best for your birthday and cheers to the new year.  Lots of blessing to you!!  Hugs!!

And lots of hugs to you too!  Only a few more days til the new year.  Anyone have any resolutions?  Mine are always the same, exercise more, get more sleep, but I think this year I'll change it up.  Not sure with what yet, but hoping it will be good.  Okie dokes, Mahalo for stopping by enjoy the rest of your day and please make sure to stop by Dena's blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Hugs,
Leanne

LFF #52 - 2 More Cards

Happy Aloha Friday Everyone!

Wow, in just a few days we'll be welcoming a new year, gonna try to savor the last few days.  Here's a couple more holiday cards I made which could possibly be the last of them.   First up is another card using the sweet SC Christmas Angel with dp from BG (Jovial).

The second card features Winter Chuckles from Yumi & Fumi Handmade
I could not resist using the last of the Rudolph paper (DCWV) for this one.  I made a simple wreath and strung some red and white twine and a big red button for the top.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie and doesn't it look like a poker chip? lol!  I love how this one turned out!  This card reminds me of the Y&FH December challenge currently going on.  Have you had a chance to upload your card yet?  There are only a few players right now, but for a big prize we'd love to have more so don't forget to join in the fun.  Here's the link to the challenge {CH#8}; hope you can join us!

Have a wonderful Aloha Friday everyone and enjoy your weekend!

Mini Calendars

Hello!!

Got a chance to make some calendars for my co-workers.  (yay)  I had to print two different types from the internet, but the others were picked up for me by my mom on her trip back to the Big Island.  My buddy Kathy gave me some coasters and I put those to good use.  Here are the ones with the coasters.  All have the same design, no images, just pretty dp from K&Company, the numbers 2013 were die cut using C.C. Cutters Bubble Number die and the stones are from my stash.  Sorry for the bad pictures, this was the only free spot on the table.

Next up are all die cut calendars using Spellbinders for the base;  the calendars I found on the internet and some images from Y&FH, Sister Stamps and Gorjuss.  Also used dp from K&Company and punched out small circles then handwrote 2013 inside and randomly glued them around the calendars.  Didn't take individual pictures as you are all probably tired of the long pictured posts. :)  Feel free to click on the picture to see more details.

I tried to pick images that didn't have too much to cut as these are all fussy cut and then pop-dot mounted.  I adhered magnetic strips to the back of each calendar in case they wanted to put them up on their closets.  Okie dokes, a few more Christmas posts and I swear I'll be done. lol.  Have a lovely day friends and as always, Mahalo for stopping by!

Gift card holders

Morning everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I certainly did.  Every Christmas our close friends come over and we have breakfast, open presents, and just hang out.  This year was no different.  We had breakfast watched some movies, opened presents and ending the evening with Sukiyaki and desserts.  We also got some facetime with our ohana on the Big Island. That was pretty cool.  Love technology!  All-in-all a wonderful Christmas day to remember, so thankful for family and friends.  Hoping you all enjoyed your Christmases as well.

For the next couples posts I'll share the last of my Christmas projects.  Hoping you all don't get sick of them. lol..  So up today are the gift card holders.  All were pretty CAS.  Used papers to dictate the scenes and some with an image.  The first set uses papers from Wild Rose Studios and I went with a red, white and soft green theme.  Added either ribbon or twine to make sure the cards stayed closed.  The sentiments are all AmyR.

I shared this one yesterday, featuring Yeti Fumi

This one is Fumi with Gift

The next ones are all paper from DCWV's 4x6 paper pad and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  Loved all the cute animals in this one...

For this one I added that cute penguin sticker from my stash

Well friends, that's all for today.  Have a terrific day and to my European friends, Happy Boxing Day!  Mahalo for stopping by!

My MIC-Sandie Holiday Banner

Hey!!!  Happy Christmas Eve!!

Today we have our annual company luncheon, so lots of fun stuff going on with associates bringing in their kids.  Mayhem is not the word for it..  Just a lot of fun and who the heck wants to work when there is so much fun stuff to do?  lol!!

I'm a bit slow today, call it sleep deprived but it's all good cause I'm ready for today.  Got the rest of the presents wrapped and finished the cards and tags.  Will share those later this week.  Today I wanted to share my MIC/Sandie inspired Holiday banner.  I call it my MIC (Make It Crafty)/Sandie Holiday banner because I used MIC images and the banner was inspired by my friend and AWEmazing crafty friend Sandie.  Please you must stop by her blog and check out all the gorgeous creations she makes.  I just saw another awesome banner she did and am totally floored!!  She has that affect on me.  (lol)

So last year Zoe, owner of Make It Crafty, had these awesome elves in her shop and of course I had to get them all.  I colored some up last year for Christmas but didn't get a chance to put them on any cards.  So this time around I printed out more of them and started to color them here and there over a month ago.  When I saw Sandie's banner I wanted to do something similar.  So here is my version of my MIC/Sandie inspired holiday banner... (Sorry the MIC store is closed so I can't link any of the images, but once she reopens the store I will add them)

(Click on the picture to see the full view)

Here are the panels from left to right:

Floppy

Duffy

Zippy

Tinkles

Socks

Rocky

Each panel is matted onto dark brown cardstock, then layered with a woodgrain stamped and distressed piece of kraft cardstock, next a doily, another dark brown cardstock mat and then the image.  Each image was distressed to give a nice subtle frame around the image and then I added MIC chippies holly and corners.  On the ends of the banner I tied off some jingle bells with some twine and in between each panel in the middle I attached a wooden star button with twine to connect them together.

It currently is hanging in the dining room which is where I do most of my crafting.  Love seeing it hanging there and can't wait to make another one.  Okie dokes, have a wonderful Christmas Eve, one more day to get things done!

Mahalo for stopping by!!

Non-traditional Colored Christmas Cards

Hello again!!

Yes, I'm on a roll!!  More crafting and possibly shopping for last minute gifts for me today.  Hopefully trying to get an early start, but we'll see.  Hope you aren't like me and procrastinating til the last minute.  (Eek!)

Today I wanted to share some non-traditional colored Christmas cards.  Most times you see lots of greens and reds, but there are so many pretty designer paper prints with pastels and lots of pretty blues so I thought I'd color up some of my favorites I've seen either on paper or experimenting.

First up is a CAS no dp card featuring the last of the Sister Stamps Christmas stamps, Yuki
Here's another "stamp" card.  I went really pastel with this one and think it turned out pretty nice, especially love the embossed frame within the stamp.  This is one of my favorite stamps, love her expression and how much she loves the prezzies in her stocking.  Stamped JOY behind her after I masked her.

Next up is Skater Wryn from Tiddly Inks..
Another super CAS card.  After coloring her up I cut her out with a Spellbinder and then distressed around the edges framing her out.  Adding some pretty rhinestone stars and the cute sentiment from Paper Smooches.  Decided to keep the base simple with the doily circle Spellbinder.

Next up is Winter Wryn, another one from Tiddly Inks

Had a bit of fun with some glittery polka dot paper and that Tim Holtz snowflake border punch.  The sentiment is by AmyR and for fun I added a snowball to her hat.  The other thing I did was purposefully fuzz out her beanie to make it well, look fuzzy.

This next one features the second of the Miss Anya Scarves from TGF...
Love how this one turned out.  I've had that dp for years and was sooo happy to finally use it.  The sentiment is from AmyR.  Last year I made a few cards with a wreath and thought one behind her would be lovely.  Love how pretty this card turned out.

Another of the Miss Anya Scarves with a blue theme:
Another one of my faves, went with a blue and tan theme here.  Also got to use my new penguin embossing folder!  Used another wonderful AmyR sentiment and a simple button to embellish.  Kept the layout pretty simple as well.
Last one is featuring a Saturated Canary stamp, Christmas Angel...
I absolutely love how this one turned out!  I went a bit overboard for me but I have to say I love the end result.  She's a cutie pie and something about her just makes me think of JOY and spreading it around the world.  So I pulled the sentiments from two AmyR sentiment stamp sets.  I added a small clothes pin after I papered it up and added a snowflake.  It actually weighs down one side of the card, but without it that spot is well kinda bare.  lol..

Well you can't get more non-traditional than those yea?  hehehe.. Okie dokes, back to the crafting table, yep, I'm gonna pull an all nighter, need all that time to finish.  Have a wonderful day!!
Mahalo for stopping by!!

Sister Stamps Christmas cards

Howdy peeps!

Hope you are all enjoying your morning.  Looks like we made it through one more day!!  Woo Hoo!!

The count down to finishing up my holiday cards and projects is nearly here, yikes!!  Still have tons to do and boy am I hating life right now. lol..  But hey, if I don't finish no worries.  I'll just have to make sure I get what I can done and the rest will have to be late.

Here are a couple more cards and this time I'm sharing the ones I used with some Sister Stamps images.  Love these cute Christmas themed ones, so fun to color and they are just so darn KAWAII!!! >.<

I decided to go with smaller cards so pulled some Spellbinders and went to work.  Used up some scraps (woo hoo) and kept the images the main focus...

First up are two cards featuring Setsuna
Made this one look like a postage stamp.  Masked him and stamped HO HO HO behind.  Doesn't he make the cutest little Santa's helper? (Hai!)

This one was a circle card and I layered it with some really cute Rudolph paper and you can't tell but the red paper below also says HO HO HO.

Last up is Shimo-san
This was one was part of a big batch of 4x4 cards I sent for the Make a Keiki Smile card drive.  Kept it pretty CAS showing off the cuteness of the scene and right under stamped the sentiment from AmyR.

I know you are probably saying, hey there should be one more yea?  Yea, it's Yuki, but I'm going to share her tomorrow along with some other cards.  hehehe

It's more crafting and making a mess for me day.  lol!  Hope you all get things done and have a chance to just relax.  Mahalo for stopping by today.

Hugs,
Leanne

LFF #51 - More Holiday Christmas cards

Happy Aloha Friday!  Well it's almost over for some of us and pretty much Saturday for others.  Glad we are all still here so let's enjoy the time we have together.  I appreciate you all and thank each and every one of you who stops by!! MAHALO!!

Here are more Christmas cards I finished over the past couple weekends with some week nights in between.  Playing with some new images and some oldies again.  This set of cards features some lovely new ladies from Sweet November as well as some cute Fairwees...

Here is Beth and Fairwee Piper

I wanted to do something fun and cute with the Fairwees and I think adding each one really gives each card a little extra cuteness.  As you can see the layouts are the same, just the papers, and embellishments are different.  The sentiments are courtesy of AmyR, Paper Smooches and Studio G.

Alrighty, that's all for today.  No give-a-ways this time, but look for more fun in the future.  For now, Mahalo for stopping by!!  Enjoy your weekend as we count down to Christmas!!

Hugs,
Lilo

TGF Christmas cards

Hey everyone!

I am sooo sad that the VOICE is over!  But what an awesome ending!  Congrats to the top 3 you were the ones I wanted to be there and I would have been happy with any of you winning!!  Looking forward to next season, not really sure how they will top this one, everyone was awesome!!!  Definitely planning to buy all 3 finalists albums when they release them.

So sorry to be be MIA lately.  Usually around this time of the year, I'm the worst at visiting blogs and keeping up with my blog.  So apologies for not being around to check out your pages.  When things finally slow down with work and Christmas I'm going to start hopping around to visit.  I have been busy making some cards and finally finished sending some out.  Now to get the rest of them out so they at least get them by Christmas Eve!

I have been neglecting my TGF (The Greeting Farm) stamps for quite some time.  I'm happy to say that I made it a point to make some for Christmas, they have some of the cutest images for just this occasion. Here are my TGF Christmas cards using some older "retro" stamps:

(Retired) Laddie Ian:

And Angel Anya:

I used some CC Designs & Paper Smooches sentiments on each of the cards.  They all have the perfect sayings.  I am sooo happy I was able to make these.  I always forget how fun they are to color, I'm sooo bad!  There are a couple of challenges on The Greeting Farm challenge blog that I can join so I'm gonna link up.  Hope you are all enjoying your 1/2 way to Friday day.  Mahalo for stopping by, you all know how much I appreciate it.  Have a lovely day!!

LFF #50 - Happy Birthday Rosemary!

Happy Aloha Friday!!

It's been a few days since I last posted and visited around blogland.  I'm also very late (Sorry Eva!!) for a very important birthday wish.  Hop on over to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Blog because we are celebrating a very special birthday for Rosemary!!  Then pop on over to Rosemary's blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!

When I was working on her card I was expecting it to be super CAS, but that kinda got a way from me and boy I think I might have overdone it!  I picked Fumi and colored her up in pinks and black.  I know Rosemary loves pink, and I love black, so thought they were a pretty cool combo.

After I was done I thought to myself, hm... looks more like a Valentine's day card, than a birthday card.  If not for the Happy Birthday on the banner you'd think that's what this was for yea?  {hehe}  I tried to make it as girly as possible and I think I achieved my goal.  Here's my message for Rosemary...

Dear Rosie, hope you're having a wonderful day!! You make everyone happy with your creations and being you and I hope we give you as much as you give us.  Thanks for all that you do and for being a wonderful friend! Wishing you all the best today and always!!  Luv ya!

Since there were no winners for last week's LFF #49, I'm extending it to this week and all you have to do is leave a comment and make sure to go through all the blogs on the Y&FH blog for Rosemary's bday post as well as Rosemary's and the one that does will get last weeks prize.

Have a terrific day and to all the peeps celebrating a birthday today, Happy Birthday!  Mahalo for stopping by and Happy Aloha Friday!!  Have a terrific weekend!!

Cheeky Santa

Morning!

I finished off another Christmas card and this one is another CAS one.  Featuring Cheeky Santa from Make It Crafty, this dude is soo cool!

Using some non-tradtional colors (BG09, BG07, BG05) for Santa's suit but I love how it looks.  Used a doily, another new embossing folder and a few pieces of cardstock (EP & Bazzil) and it was done.  I distressed the embossed piece with white pigment ink it makes the embossed parts shine, I really like the effect.  I think this Santa is pretty terrific!

Have a great Saturday and happy crafting, shopping or relaxing today!!

LFF #49 - Mariko, Wishing you...

"a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!

Does anyone else feel that this month is going by too quickly?  I need to get going if I want to do what I need to do!  Yikes!!  hahaha!  Who else is scrambling to finish off their projects?  For those who are done or almost done I envy you!!  {hehe}

Here is another completed Christmas card, yay!  Featuring Mariko from Sister Stamps and some beautiful MIC chipboard.  She is the perfect image for any celebration.

I colored her up with lots of red and left parts white.  Her hair was fun to color as well, I used Copics E55, E57 and a little bit of E59.  That's another thing I love about Sister Stamps, their hair is so fun to color!  The first being that they are so darn cute!  The chipboard is part of the Holly Oval frames and Ornate corners sets and boy are they awesome!!  I colored them both first with a white pencil and then with Copic markers, I read about that on Alyce's blog and wanted to try it.  Check out her awesome page, she's one amazing crafter!!!  The holly leaves are colored with a white gel pen, and the berries were colored with R46, Stickles & then diamond glazed.  The frame & corners are colored with E59 and I love how it looks like wood grain.  Don't know if that's the effect from coloring on to the white pencil or because my marker was acting up, but for whatever reason it made some cool woodgrain!  The swirls are colored with E57 and they also look like wood, but a slightly lighter shade.

For the rest of the card I matted two white pieces of cardstock to a kraft card which I distressed using white ink, on top of that is a red embossed piece of cardstock that is also distressed with white ink to soften up the edges.  On top of that is a small piece of cheesecloth which I also discovered on Alyce's blog.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Trinkets by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and it was stamped with white ink and then wet embossed on to kraft cardstock.

This card qualifies for the Yumi & Fumi Handmade December challenge because I used the theme colors, red, camel and white and I used a qualifying stamp.  Too bad I can't link it up, would love to try to get one of those awesome banners!  {hehehe}  But you don't have to worry cause YOU can link up, just follow the rules on the blog and enter.  The prize is awesome!!  For all the details click HERE

Okie dokes, there are a couple of you who have not messaged me their snail mail so please Heidi Brawley and Jazzmom please email me at quikhonu34{at}yahoo{dot}com so I can send out your prizes for past LFF posts.  As for the others I will be shipping them out next week.  Ok, for this week's LFF #49 giveaway I have a stamp and some other goodies to share, just leave me a comment and I will pick a winner and share on Monday.  Here's your question:  What are your "go to" Christmas colors this year?  I'm all over the place, but I've been loving the non-traditional colors like blues, lighter greens with dark reds and touches of white, and anything with kraft & white.  So many fun colors you can incorporate as long as you have the right image, papers or embellishments.

All the MIC chipboards were purchased via SCACD.  Love this store and the customer service is da' bomb!

That's all for me folks.  Enjoy your Aloha Friday and have a great weekend!!!
Mahalo for stopping by!

Tiny Tia Baker

Hey everyone!

Did you know that Some Odd Girl is having their 3rd Annual Hol-ODD-day hop December 3-6?!  Its one big Linky Party and everyone is invited! All you have to do to hop with SOG is to create a post using a new or old holiday themed project using a Some Odd Girl digi or stamp.  For all the details head on over to the SOG blog.

I thought how fun, I want to play!!  I have a limited amount of SOG images, but my favorite is little Tiny Tia Baker, she is adorable!  Here she is rockin' the traditional red & green Christmas colors in her hair.

I paired her up with some cute Carta Bella Merry & Bright paper.  I also used one of my newest Cuttlebug embossing folders.  The other new thing I did was stamping her using two different colored ink pads.  Keeping to a red and green theme I randomly inked her up with both and then stamped her.  I thought about leaving her just like that, but then I wanted to get some color on her skin, then her hair and a few other parts and then had to finally say STOP! {lol!}  I stamped the AmyR sentiment on a piece of white scrap paper and used a corner punch to make it in to a tag, next I added a piece of ribbon and a red pearl to finish it off.  The Happy Holidays is actually ribbon that I strategically cut from Offray.  I love how this turned out!!

Here's a close up of Tia showing you how scrumptious her cupcake looks.  Yummmm!!!  Alrighty friends, I hope you have a wonderful day!!  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Leanne

Lollipop Crafts #95 - Happy Holidays

{Before I get started Jazzmom you are the winner of my LFF #48 give away!! Please email me your snail mail so I can get the prize out to you}

Good morning everyone!!

Today starts a new bi-weekly challenge at Lollipop Crafts.  Thanks to everyone who played in our Thankful challenge, your creations were truly inspiring.  Now it's time to start up the new bi-weekly challenge and for the next two weeks, challenge #95 issued is Happy Holidays.  Show us your Christmas or other winter holiday cards, scrapbook pages or crafty gifts.  This should all be fairly easy to do since most of us are doing just that, creating holiday winter projects.   Head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog to see what the teams are sharing today.  Our sponsor will be showcased on Wednesday so make sure you stop by the Lollipop Crafts blog to see who it is and what the prize is.

Today I have a pretty fun card to share.  I went shopping on Saturday and was able to pick up some dies, new dp and a pile of other crafty stuff that was on sale, yay for me!   Here's my Holiday card featuring 3 new images from Yumi & Fumi Handmade's Winter 2012 collection.  I call them the Yeti crew.  Here's Yeti Yumi, Bob the Yeti and Yeti Fumi in this fun outdoor winter scene...

This is one of my faves!  I have had these three sitting on my table waiting to be colored up and I finally got a chance to do it.  I chose non-traditional colors that I have been seeing around blogworld, grays and bluegreens with some dark browns scattered here and there and of course white.  The trees in the background is made of white felt and I used my new Tim Holtz Christmas tree die.  I love it!  The dp is the Winter Frost paper by We R Memory Keepers and I distressed it with a paper edger, and Distress inks Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo.  The lacey bow on top is from Martha Stewart and I tied some bells with white floss to add to the holiday cheer. Speaking of holiday cheer, the sentiment seemed fun to go with this scene and it's from Paper Smooches.  On the bottom underneath the trio are white branches which I thought resembled branches from the tree.  And lastly I added those diamond stars to give it a touch of sparkle.  You won't be able to tell {cause I barely do} that there is some glitter on the light bulbs.

If you'd like to purchase any of the Yeti Crew images click on each of their names above, those are direct links to the images in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store.  If you live in the U.S. you'll receive free shipping for any order $35 or over for the whole month of December.

Okie dokie, hope you'll be able to share your Happy Holiday projects with us on the Lollipop Crafts blog

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a great day!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Y&FH December Challenge

Hey everyone!!

Happy December!!  I am going to be doing a lot of mad crafting every chance I get!  Need to mail out by next week, but first things first, need to finish!  Are you already done with your Christmas list or do you still have a lot to do?

Today starts the December month long challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  The DT is taking this month off, but had sometime to create some gorgeous samples for today.  We've got two different themes for this challenge that you can play in all month long, with an AWEmazing prize.  Head on over to the Y&FH blog to see the DT samples, find out about the challenge details and then make sure to link up your project.

As I mentioned, Challenge #8 has two themes, you can choose one or the other or combine both on to one project.  A sketch created by our very own Kim Yu and a color challenge of white, red and camel, check out the inspiration photo if you're stuck.  First up is Kim's sketch:

Next up is the color inspiration from The Perfect Palette of RED, CAMEL & WHITE:

I did a combination of both themes and came up with this card featuring Fumi with Umbrella.

I kept it without a sentiment so that I could add one on later, but I think this could be used for any occasion even Christmas.  Used a few Spellbinders, punches and an embossing folder.  The only patterned paper here is that little piece of vellum with the white swirls.  The lace ribbon was actually white and I used Copic E55 to turn it into a Camel color.

Now even though the team is going to be on a break we have a wonderful guest designer stepping in to help you get in to the holiday spirit.  Stop by the blog to see who it is.  Of course I'll be around to add some inspiration every once in a while.  Okie dokie, you have until Jan 5th to link up your creation for a chance to win the big prize.  You don't want to miss out!!

Mahalo for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Leanne
