Yippie!!

Hello!

Poppin' in a little bit late to remind everyone that you only have a day left to play in the current challenge at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  So far we have some really lovely entries and everyone has done such a wonderful job caseing Sandie's original card.   If you stop by the Y&FH blog you'll see that Sandie is sharing her own case'd card today.  She did a fabulous job too.  I'm sharing my CAS card today as well.  I'm actually liking this card.  Reminds me that Spring is almost here.

Fumi with Messenger Bag

The bright paper is from American Crafts which I found at Target!!  Score!!  The rest of the card came together pretty quickly.

The challenge ends at noon on Friday, March 1st.  Hope you get a chance to play!  Ok time for me to go to bed, have a terrific Thursday everyone and Mahalo for stopping by today!!

Good Luck ;)

Hello!

Hope you all are enjoying your Saturday.  I have a card to share featuring an oldie from The Greeting Farm.  Here's WS - Elena and she's wishing you Good luck ;)

I had a lot fun with this card.  Coloring her was great fun too.  I used Copics V04 & V17 to color her hair.  For her outfit & sunglasses I used Copics N5-N7.  The dp is from the MME "Unforgettable" 6x6 paper pad, kraft from Recollections and the charcoal is from Hanko Designs.  I case'd Sandie's card which is the current challenge over at Yumi and Fumi Handmade.  Used several dies including Spellbinders, CC Cutters, Martha Stewart and Marvy Uchida.  The ticket stamp was altered a bit.  After inking it up I wiped away the sentiment and used a different sentiment from Paper Smooches.  The twine is from Michael's and the crocheted ribbon is from The Ribbon Carousel.  Last things added are some pretty cabachon flowers.  Here's a close-up of the right side with the ticket and hearts, yes there's a tiny butterfly inside the heart...

I'm planning to play in a few of the current challenges at The Greeting Farm.  The Retro Fresh Hearts Galore challenge and the Farm Fresh Friday, Flowers challenge.  I wish I could play in the Yumi and Fumi Handmade challenge because this card and image certainly qualify and the prize is awesome!  Speaking of Yumi and Fumi Handmade, we're now on Pinterest and if you haven't come to like us on Facebook, come on by.  I think I'll also share this on the DTC FB page for non-traditional hair colors.

Mahalo for stopping by in your busy schedules.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!  Now it's on to the next project...

Many Thanks

Good morning!!

It's back to work for me today.  I was supposed to meet up with my friend Nancy for dinner last night but her son had other plans for her.  He decided to make his appearance so dinner was definitely canceled!  {hahaha}  Last I heard she and he were doing good.  She asked me to make her some baby shower Thank you cards and she was brave enough to let me do my own design.  Love when I have free creative reign.  Her theme had lots of monkeys and she loves butterflies so for me it was pretty easy to come up with something that incorporated both.

It was really nice to not have to think about coloring an image.  I used a beautiful butterfly embossing folder on kraft cardstock.  Added white pigment ink to distress the edges to give it a soft look.  The monkey is from the Sweet November rubber stamp Safari Pals set.  I love how big each of the rubber stamps are and now ATS has scroll cut their stamps which is really nice.  I slightly altered the monkey by wiping away the mouth and adding a smiley face.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and it was stamped with white ink and embossed with white powder.  I rounded the bottom corners of the card and the final touch was adding the small butterflies.

Now that he's here I can't wait to meet him!  Okie dokes, that's it for me today.  Mahalo for stopping by today.  Have a great day!!

Gigi

Hello!
Yes, this is my second post today.  It's been so long since I've done that, but I wanted to get this card in to a challenge over at The Greeting Farm.

This card was fun to make!  If you've never seen this cutie from The Greeting Farm it's because she's actually two stamps in one.  I did a little body swap with Wild Sprout Ruby & Wild Sprout Gigi (retired).  This layout is the current Double Take Tuesday sketch challenge at The Greeting Farm.  Have been wanting to use these gorgeous papers from the Country Boutique by Fancy Pants.  The colors are soft and pretty and along with the kraft cardstock sorta shabby chic.  The pretty crochet trim is from The Ribbon Carousel and the flower and brad are from my stash.  I hand wrote the simple "Hello!" sentiment to finish it off.

Hope you're enjoying your Monday.  It's President's Day for those of us in the USA so lots of people have it off, including me.  It's also Family Day in Canada so to my friends there, hope you are enjoying it.  On a sad note, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dr. Jerry Buss passed away today.  He was an amazing owner and loved the people of Los Angeles.  He will truly be missed by all the Laker fans, but lives on in the hearts of us all.  R.I.P. Dr. Buss, enjoy the best seat in the house!

Enjoy the rest of your day my friends and thanks again for stopping by!!

Better Late than Never!

Hello!

Ever had a card that you created and forgot that you didn't blog about it?  Well I found this card when I was looking through some old pictures and realized that I had never blogged about it.  It's been a while as I remember making this for one of my cousin's stepdaughter's wedding.  Well no time like the present to share it especially when I saw the challenge over at Tiddly Inks.  I haven't had a chance to play in any of their current challenges, but I'm hoping to this time.  Boy am I cutting it close though.  Anyhoos, if I get it in on time or not I think I'd really like to share it.  This is one of my favorite cards using one of my favorite images, You & Me from Tiddly Inks.

Love this beautiful image.  I went with warm colors because if I remember correctly my cousin-in-law was married in the summer.  The papers are K&Company and one of my favorite paper pads.  Always love the dark browns as accents.  The second part I love about this card is the inside...

I very rarely have something on the inside but I did with this card.  One of the prettiest insides I've ever done. {lol}  If I remember correctly I printed the image twice, one for the front and the second one I framed the couple out.  I remember distressing around it and loved how vintage it turned out.  I seriously can't believe I forgot to blog this one. lol..  Better late than never.

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Hope you have a fantastic week!!

Y&FH Challenge #10

Good morning!!

Today starts a new challenge over at Yumi & Fumi Handmade.  Throughout the year we are going to case a card created by our DT.  Today we are case'ing one of Sandie's beautiful cards!

Created by Sandie Dunne using Yumi with Fan
For all the details please pop on over to the blog.  While you are there be sure to check out Rosie's and Denice's takes on Sandie's card they both did a wonderful job.  Now Sandie is known for her beautiful layouts and floral arrangements.  I've tried in the past and I've come to realize that I do not have a green thumb!  Either in the outdoors or on paper.  hahaha!!  But I'm going to give it a go for my card.  Please be gentle...

Tada!  Not too bad right?  I used Fumi with Umbrella and kept the case as close to Sandie's card as much as possible.  I tried and think it turned out pretty good.  As you can see I just bunched the flowers together, no rhyme or reason.    I don't have the gorgeous Prima flowers that she used, but I do have flowers that worked out really well.

The papers, except for the white cardstock, are all from Hanko Designs including the rusty red colored cardstock base.  The sentiment is from AmyR So Wordy Sentiments and it's stamped on one of the banner tags from C.C. Designs.  The Twinery twine is from ATS and the crochet ribbon was from The Ribbon Carousel.  The butterfly was punched using one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches.

Hope you can come and play with us this time around.  The challenge ends on Friday March 1st so you'll have plenty of time to choose an image and get crafty.  Have a fantastic Sunday and Mahalo for taking time out of your day to stop by.

Hugs,
Leanne

Someone to Watch Over Me

Good morning!

Today I wanted to share the card I made using Turtle Lurv from Saturated Canary.  Love this image and was a little disappointed when it was the freebie, but it's ok, cause I knew either way I would have ended up buying her.  Can't resist anything with a cute turtle.  I had fun coloring this one.

Now this is not my normal style of cards, I'm not so good with flower arrangements, etc, but I truly love how it turned out.  The mix of flowers were from a RAK I received, as well as roses from my collection.  I added the cute pillow heart to the mix for fun.  Here's a close up:

I really had the hardest time finishing this off.  I needed something to go on the right side over the heart doily.  It was just too much space, so I punched a couple tags and hand wrote the sentiment, then added a little friend of my own...

"Say hello to my little friend..."  {hahaha}  Sorry I couldn't resist!  I didn't initially come up with the sentiment, but I saw it on a sticker that I had and thought... PERFECT!!  So I hand wrote it and added the three hearts just cause.  {lol}  I thought it was still a bit too white so I added some red butterflies and then I stopped.

I popped on over to see what the latest challenges were at Flutterby Wednesdays and Saturated Canary and lo and behold my card qualifies for both!! Woo Hoo, so I'm going to add it.  Yay!

Mahalo for stopping by!!  Have a fabulous Saturday!!

LFF #57 - XOXO

Hi!!  T.G.I.A.F!!

Hope you all had a nice Valentine's Thursday.  It's really nice to be back to crafting and posting.  Thank you all for your lovely comments, I hope you all know how much I love to read them.

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday #57, I wanted to share 2 handmade postage stamps I made using Yumi & Fumi with a fun Valentine's Day theme.  First up is Fumi:

I used the largest postage stamp & square Spellbinder dies, an MS border punch, C.C. Designs Cutter Bubble Alphabet die, a medium heart punch, Doodlebug Design's Love Bird patterned paper & Twinery Bakers twine.  There are also Recollections half pearls in each corner.  The colors used on Fumi were all based on the adorable patterned paper.  Next up is Yumi:

I used the same exact tools above for this postage stamp.  The only differences are the patterned paper which is from Martha Stewart, the colors of the half pearls, postage stamp and twine.  The layout is the same, I just popped Yumi on the opposite side.  Love that patterned paper and the pops of dark chocolate.  Here they are together:

I have to say these are a couple of my favorite Valentine themed projects.  Not sure yet if I will turn them in to cards or possibly add a magnet to the back.  I just love that they look like postage stamps!  Yay!

Oh before I sign off, don't forget that today at noon the Y&FH Challenge #9 ends, so if you haven't already linked up your card/project using a punch or die you still have a little bit of time.  Click HERE to upload your card and also to check out the details of the challenge, like which stamps you can use.  So far we've got 9 submissions but we'd love to get more. :)  These two can be purchased via our online store.  If you spend $50 or more you'll receive free shipping!   And if you haven't already liked our FB page, click here to rectify that.  :)  {okie dokes enough advertising for today ~ hehehe}

Valentine's Day Tags & Cookies

Happy Valentine's Day!!
I know the day's almost over, but I just had a chance to do a quick post so I'm taking a few minutes to do it.

My friend, Doreen Sanuki, who is also my co-worker and baker extraordinaire, and I decided to tag team for Valentine's Day this year.  She baked some delicious chocolate-chip cookies with red & white sprinkles and I made some cute tags to tie them to the bags.  I used the cute new Asian Meoples and the Love is in the Air Meoples.  You might also see a cute Sweet November Love bug floating around as well.  I trimmed them after coloring them and punched some tags out of paper from MS and Recollections.  I also printed out some pretty Valentine's Day cards that were a freebie from Webster's pages.  We tied red/white or pink/white Doodle Bug twine to give it a nice finish.  Here are some pictures...

These turned out really cute for a last minute Valentine's Day treat.  All items except the paper can be found at All That Scraps.  Next year we might do it again, but this time we'll try to be more proactive and do them earlier.  hehehe..  Hoping your Valentine's Day is wonderful!!

Have a great night and Mahalo for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Rena!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Sorry I've been MIA.  I was missing my mojo and didn't really have the need to craft for a few days.  (GASP!) I know right?!!  What's wrong with me?  I don't know if any of you get that feeling like you just don't want to be around the crafty table, but sometimes I go through those phases and just looking at the craft table tires me out!  But I'm back and my mojo seems to be back for a bit so today I have something to share...  YAY!!  Hoping to share a few more cards for the rest of the week.

Today is a super special day.  My partner in crime Renate' Winter is celebrating her BIRTHDAY and the Yumi & Fumi Handmade Team and a few friends are helping with the celebration!!  Hop on over to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog to see the wonderful birthday cards and messages left by some of her friends.

Here's my card featuring Yumicorn.  I did a little alteration by adding stars and butterfly wings to her costume.  She already had wings, but I messed them up while coloring.  I decided to trim them off and used a butterfly die to create her wings.  I think it turned out almost as good as the original.  I went with a simple layout with lots of die cuts.  I used a balloon die, Spellbinder star circle die and star punches.  As you can see there is a lot of sparkle, if you can't see it believe me it's there.  I sparkled her horn, stars on her outfit, and of course her wings.  For fun I added pink & white twine to the balloons and I hope it looks like she's releasing them.  I handwrote the sentiment on the balloons and the star.   I hope she likes it.

Happy Birthday Rena!!  Wishing you the best birthday any girl can ask for.  Thanks for being a fantastic friend and partner in crime.  Cheers to many more occasions where we can hang out and do damage.  lol!  Enjoy this day and celebrate all month long!!  Margaritas!!!  hehehe... I Love ya girl!

Please stop by her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday.  Mahalo for stopping by, have a fabulous day!!

Happy Birthday Sandie!!

Hello!!

It's just a little after 8am in Ireland and today the Y&FH team and some special friends are sending birthday wishes to our friend and teammate, Sandie Dunne!  Head on over to the Y&FH blog to see which friends are sending birthday wishes to her.  I looked online for a special Irish birthday wish and found quite a few, but the one I liked most was this one:

There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships,
And may they always be.

Lá Breithe Shona dhuit!

My card features 4 Y&FH images from the Kimono seriesYumi Peace Sign, Fumi with GiftYumi with Fan, and Fumi with Umbrella.  I made them in to portraits for something fun.  I wish I could do flowers like Sandie is known for, or even stitching, but then it wouldn't be my card ya know?  So I hope she likes my simple card with a few flowers and some of her favorite colors (pink & teal).  The origami paper is from Hanko Designs and the letters were created using the C.C. Cutters Bubble Alphabet die.  I colored the letters using Copic B39 and added white dotted flowers with a white gel pen.  The pretty pink & white flowers are from Recollections.

Happy Birthday Sandie!!  Wishing you all the wonderful things you deserve and more.  Have a terrific day and Sláinte to many, many more!!!  Love ya!!!

If it's your birthday today, Happy Birthday to you and many many more!!

Make sure to stop by the Y&FH blog to see the other ladies birthday wishes and projects just for Sandie (don't forget to leave them all some love) and then make sure to stop by Sandie's blog and give her some birthday love too.

Mahalo for stopping by!!

Shhh... Don't rock the baby

Good morning everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend!  Congrats to the Ravens.  Were you dissappointed in the game yesterday?  Lots of controversy, especially when the lights went out.  Too funny, by that time the game was just boring for me.  It did pick up in the end which is how it should have started.  I liked some of the commercials, but they weren't spectacular and Beyonce did her thang!  It was nice to see her partnering up again with Kelly and Michelle.  Looking forward to their comeback tour.

Today I have this fun monkey card I made for one of my dearest friends.  She's preggers and her baby shower theme was monkeys.  I knew exactly which stamps I wanted to use for her card.  The first was the cute monkey from Sweet November Land's Safari Pals set and the second was Baby Bear Beatrice from C.C. Designs.

Yes the background is paper I made using the monkey and randomly flipping him upside down.  So love playing with digis to make fun background paper.  I didn't really have to do anything more.  I made the monkey bigger and placed him in the center then placed a tiny BBB on to his head.  Hehehe, Monkey looks like he's scared to move and wake the baby.  So I'm calling this one, "Don't rock the baby."  lol...  I used distress inks, Vintage Photo, around the edges and then used Walnut Stain on the edge of the paper.  I stamped the sentiment (AmyR Welcome Little One) Congratulations on some dp and made it in to a banner.  The diaper pins are from the CC Cutter Baby Accessories die set.  The ribbon was from the Ribbon Carousel and went perfectly with the rest of the card.

That's all I have today, Mahalo for stopping by!.  Have a terrific day!!
Hugs,
Leanne

Y&FH Challenge # 9 - Hangin' with my Gnomies

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone!!

What most excites you about the Super Bowl?  Is it the two teams playing?  The creative commercials or the spectacular half-time show?  What about the special food that's prepared just for Super Bowl?  So many things to take in to consideration yea?  Well I don't really have a favorite when it comes to the Super Bowl.  I mostly look forward to the food, the commercials and the half-time show.  It should be a pretty exciting game though.  Good luck to both sides!!

I'd like to take this opportunity to say MAHALO to all 11 participants for the January month long challenge.  We really enjoyed each one of the designs and look forward to even more participants for future challenges.  Speaking of which...

Today starts a new challenge over at Yumi & Fumi HandmadeChallenge #9 ~ Use a Die or Punch.  Head on over to the blog to check out the inspirations from a few ladies from our design team.  Here is my card featuring Fumi Panda and looks like she's got some little friends playing HIde-n-seek.

I'm calling this one, "Hangin' with my Gnomies!" {hehehe} I used various Spellbinder circles, Stampin' Up circle punches and C.C. Design Cutters Bubble Alpha letter dies.  The pattern paper is from MME, Gnome Sweet Gnome.  The white cardstock is embossed with white daisies.  I fussy cut Fumi Panda and all the gnomes. Yes the gnomes are super small and it was quite a chore cutting out the details. lol.. But it was worth it in the end.  The layout is from the Deconstructed Sketch #86.

Alrighty, now it's your turn to play.  You have until Friday, 2/15/13 at Noon (PST) to link up your project.  ONE entry per participant and you must link directly to your post and not your blog.  All challenge details can be found in the Challenge info tab at the top of our Home page.

Before I sign off, a reminder to come and LIKE us on our FB page.  We're trying to reach 200 likes and once we do, we're giving a way a stamp or two.  So lots of places to look for a chance to win some cuteness.

Mahalo for stopping by today!!  Have a terrific day!  Go 49ers!  Go Ravens!
Hugs,
Leanne
