Vintage Photo B-day Card

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a nice weekend.  It went by too darn quick in my opinion, but then they always see to do right?  Today I wanted to share the card I made for my co-worker's birthday.  He's into photography so I thought this was something fun.  I used two dies from The Greeting Farm's Film & Polaroid die set, sentiment from Paper Smooches, dp from Colorbök (via Wal-Mart), and Neenah cs.

Happy Birthday card for Son

Went with a CAS design.  Embossed some white cs with a Swiss dots folder.  You can't tell, but I added acetate to the film strip and see the vintage camera?  Well I printed that from the internet.  Thought it tied in the whole theme of what I was going for quite nicely.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you all have a great day!

Leanne

Kitty Bee Designs: CH #4 "Summer" - Mid-Inspiration

Hey Everyone!!

It's another Happy Aloha Friday at the Kitty Bee Designs challenge blog and today the Bees and I are sharing our Mid-Inspirations with you.  Make sure to stop by the KBD challenge blog to see all the wonderful Summer inspired projects from the Bee Team.

Today I have a cute way to dress up any lollipop or candy cane stick, you could also use this on any of those long tubular candies to dress it up.

This cutie is Follow the Butterfly Bear and can be found in the KBD Etsy store here.  I printed her out fairly big and used a circle Spellbinder to cut her out. I colored her with Copics first and then using my Distress inks and handy sponge tool I created the clouds and grass behind her.  I left the die on to give it that framed look.  I used some scrap dp from SEI that was nice and bright to give it a little bit of color before adhering it to the bright yellow (embossed) cardstock behind.  I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the candy cane I chose to decorate actually matched my tag (happy accidents).  I added a sheer green and white polka dot ribbon at the bottom to "tie" it all together (pun intended - haha)

Okie dokes, Mahalo for stopping by today, make sure you link up before the challenge expires!!  Good luck and Happy Aloha Friday!!

Hugs,
Leanne

My Black Sand Beach card

**Please scroll down for the Sparkle blog hop**

Hey everyone!!
Hope you're all having a good weekend.  Yumi & Fumi Handmade is going to be taking a break from challenges for the next two weeks so that the DT can spend some quality time with their kids before they head back to school.  We're going to recharge and then come back with new faces and new challenges.  In the meantime here's the card I shared on the blog featuring Summer Fumi and the smaller version of our Hang Loose stamp.

I used a lot of black here.  First the card base, then the sand, the sequins aka coconuts and the black palm tree (die from La-La Land Crafts).  The rest just came together pretty quickly.

Above is a close up of the palm tree and the Hang Loose which btw I colored in with Copics.

She looks like a version of Ariel from the Little Mermaid to me.  (hahaha)  Well that's all for me.  Mahalo for stopping by today!  I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer and I'm going to try to get around to each of your blogs.  I haven't been a very good blogger buddy so I'm going to try my best to get hopping.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs,
Leanne

Good luck to all and Happy Hopping!

I know my card isn't as festive, but I really wanted to use the newest London Charlotte for my card.  With all the hoop-la going on with the Princess and Prince expecting their first child and all of London anticipating the birth I thought this was a perfect image to use.  My card is pretty CAS with lots of texture in the background thanks to one of my trusty embossing folders.  I wanted to do something fun so I cut out an oval and masked it over part of the image to give it a nice and fun silhouette, then I went in with my trusty sponge and Distress ink and that's how I got the image to look like that.  (hahaha)  I used Copics to color up the image and had to go online to actually see what colors were used for the clock tower and buildings.  Chose to give Charlotte a little bit of red which makes her outfit pop and then kept the rest of it neutral.

Congratulations Sparkle!! 3 years and still going strong!!  Thanks so much for inviting me to be part of the celebration.  Cheers to many many more my friend!!

Enjoy the rest of the hop everyone and don't forget to leave me a comment, remember there are prizes up for grabs, plus I love reading them, hahaha!!

Hugs,

Kitty Bee Designs CH#4 - Summer

Hey everyone!
I'm excited to announce that I'm part of the Kitty Bee Design Team and will be designing on the Bees Team.  They had a DT call a while back and I thought why not try out, there's a 50/50 chance I might make it.  And I'm so honored that I was chosen.  These are some fun and talented ladies.  Hope I can keep up.  (hehe)  I was first introduced to Kitty Bee Designs when I was on the Lollipop Crafts team and fell in love with the adorable images.  Now it's pretty awesome that I get a chance to share how cute these images are on a regular basis.  Yay for me!

Let's get to my first share for Team Bees:

CHALLENGE #4 is all about SUMMER.

For more inspiration and more info on the challenge details stop by the Kitty Bee Designs blog and check out what the rest of Bees created.

When I think of summer for some reason I think of something cold.  Like a favorite icy treat.  A Hawaiian treat...shave ice!  Yay!

I've tried several places here in Los Angeles, there are all kinds of shave ice places here, but to find the best shave ice you gotta go to Hawai'i. I've visited the famous Matsumoto's on the North Shore of Oahu and Aoki's, but my most memorable spot was one I tried on Maui.  My friend took a bunch of us to go get shave ice at of all places, a Laundromat!  We all thought it was quite funny until we tasted the sweet dessert and we were hooked.  From the time she took us until the time we actually left Maui we had gone there almost everyday, sometimes twice a day.  Pretty interesting the places you'll find ono food when you know someone local.  Oh yea, good times!

For my summer challenge share I decided to use one of my very first purchases from KBD, Shave Ice Anyone Bunny.

This is one adorable image!!  I case'd this card from Sister Stamps owner, Jenny. Used paper from Recollections and Surf's Up paper pad.  The yellow cardstock is also from Recollections and the white cardstock is Neenah.  Used Distress inks mustard seed, spun sugar and wild honey to frame bunny out.  Next I colored up this image with Copics and after coloring the shave ice I added diamond stickles to the top, looks just like shave ice to me.  yum!  See, here's a close up...  This flavor is guava, lilikoi, mango.  Hey it's my card I'll have what I want on it. lol!

Well my friends, that's all from me today.  Make sure to stop by the Kitty Bee Designs Blog to see all the details for CH #4.  Hope you'll join in on the fun!  Good luck!!

Have a great weekend!!

Hugs,
Leanne

Yumi & Fumi 1 Year Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello everyone!!

We've got some celebrating to do today.  Why?!  Well it's Yumi & Fumi's 1 year anniversary, that's why! Woo Hoo!!

We can't believe how fast that came but we're super excited to be celebrating it.  We're having our very first anniversary blog hop and invited some special friends to help us.  You should have come from my beautifully talented cousin, Sharmaine's blog.  If you've just popped in and want to get in on the fun, head on over to the Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog where you can start at the beginning of another beautifully amazing crafters blog, my teammate, Eva Uyeunten.

We decided to use an inspiration photo for the hop and as you saw each of the ladies you visited prior to me did an amazing job with it!  Here is a reminder of what the inspiration photo our design team chose looks like.  The colors are perfect for a summertime celebration don't you think?  Si!

Here's my celebration card featuring Summer Fumi, Bob the Yeti and Summer Yumi!

As you can see these guys are in a festive mood.  The bright colors with the subtle touches of brown really make this card pop!  I used the ink in the embossing folder technique for the backdrop and love how it turned out.  The rest well just came together all at once and the finishing touch is that beautiful sparkly pink Happy Birthday cut out from Island Scrapbooking in Hilo, Hi.

Thank you all so very much for being so supportive of Yumi & Fumi for the past year.  We look forward to our 2nd year with you.  Now it's time to head back to the Yumi & Fumi blog where it all begins and ends.  Don't forget to leave a comment before you leave!!!

Mahalo for stopping by!!
