A Kitty Bee Designs DT Christmas Swap From Michelle

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to share a DT swap that I received from my Kitty Bee Designs teammie, Michelle Nutter from Just a Nutter Stamper.  We were paired together and look at the cute, cute, cute card and tags she sent to me!  All using Kitty Bee Designs Christmas/Winter images of course.

The card is adorable with the cute printed paper featuring the penguins and the holly.  What a pretty bow and to top it off with Hollie Christmas Penguin colored with I believe colored pencils completes it all beautifully.  I think I'm going to print out a few of my images at a larger size as Michelle did here, and would love to case this card for Christmas.  It's awemazing!

Here's a close up of her fun tags.  These will definitely come in handy as I'm always running out of tags for my gifts.

Three adorable tags featuring more Kitty Bee Designs Christmas/Winter images.  I love how she printed them, colored them and die cut them using what looks like different Spellbinders/dies. Whoever receives one of these tags & card will have to be very special.

Special shout out to Shirl for putting this together and to Kel for partnering us up.  This was so much fun!  Thanks again Michelle, I'm so happy to have had you as my swap partner for our First annual (I hope) Kitty Bee Designs DT swap.  Make sure to head on over to Michelle's blog and leave her some love.  I'll be back tomorrow to share my last Monday Spotlight for 2014.  Hope you'll stop by to check it out.  Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!

Little Red

Good morning!

So I didn't get a chance to go shopping yesterday even though I left work early, I was too tired.  How about you?  Did you find any good sales?  Share!  (hahaha)

Today I thought I'd finally share this altered fan I sent to another swap partner in October.  I know she's already received it so it's now ok for me to share here.  I made something similar (HERE) but different for another swap buddy using two Sister Stamps, this time I decided to use one of my Gorjuss Girl images and included the fan.

The image is called Little Red.  After I colored her with my Copics, I "fun" (not fussy) cut her out.  Read all about "fun"(not fussy) cutting over on Karen's blog.  It looks like she and I are the only ones who like to do this. hahaha...  The patterned paper is from DCWV and I loved it because Little Red honestly looks like she's tip-toeing through a garden.  I added some white daisy ribbon around the edges, some gems, a mini calendar, a wooden butterfly, that huge fabric flower and more lace trim to cover up the handle.  I also added some leaf stick pins and a Prima zipper pull.  Here are a few close-ups...

My partner should be able to hang this up.  Right above the second leaf pin there is a slot that a hook could fit through.  Once the calendar is done she can remove it and add another mini calendar for next year or a picture.  It's pretty functional.  I definitely enjoyed putting this one together.  The key to this project was having the right patterned paper and enough patience to put it all together.  Once you get started everything sorta flows, it's getting started that's the hard part.  I'm happy my swap partner liked this.

Well that's all for now.  I hope you have an awesome day and if you can, go out and support your local small businesses.  I plan to do some of that myself.  Until next time, thank you for stopping by!

Lilo's Fun Friday #82 - Black Friday Santa

Hello! Hello!

Happy Black Friday everyone!  Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday.  Ours could be described with two words: food coma!  hahaha!  My parents did another wonderful job of making too much good food, but my brother's and I didn't mind as that means we have leftovers for a couple of days.  I'm not a big turkey fan, and the only time I'll eat it is during Thanksgiving or when I'm at Downtown Disney, eating at the Earl of Sandwich.  They have this amazing turkey sandwich that is like Thanksgiving all in one.  It's amazing!!  hmmmm....  I think I need to take a Disney trip soon.

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday share how about a fun card in honor of Black Friday and the official start of Christmas for me?  It's a black & white card featuring this Cheeky Santa from Make It Crafty...

Yeah, I have prezzie but I'm keepin 'em

This is one of the coolest Santas I've used on a card and I'm glad I bought him.  He reminds me of Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty.  Oh that would be a cool idea to put on to a card.  (hahaha)  Sorry I got sidetracked, Squirrel!  (bahaha)  Anyhoos, I decided to go with a simple layout using a fun patterned paper and a few MIC chippies.  Inside the word bubble I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Santa stamp.  Makes me LOL!  I think on the inside I'll write something just as fun(ny).  Here's a close-up of the sentiment, makes you laugh right?!  lol!  I embossed it in silver to keep the theme going...

As most of you will probably be out and about enjoying the crowded parking, malls and stores getting those awesome deals, I'll be at work, (BOO!)  Can't wait for the day to be over to start the weekend and possibly get in some shopping.  Too many cool deals to pass up.  Have a happy Black Friday everyone and as always thanks for your wonderful comments and for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Lilo

Delaram's birthday card

Hello!

Today I'm popping in to share a quick card I recently made for my friend and co-worker, Delaram.  She just celebrated a milestone birthday so I wanted to make sure this card was everything she would love.  I know she loves green, gold and bling.  (lol)  So I tried to give her a bit of everything.  I think I nailed it.

I have been on this transparency paper obsession and love how I can stamp on it without detracting from the background.  I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a Staz-on gold or silver ink pad?  It would have come in handy to have one of those on hand for this card.  I tried with a pigment ink but it smeared, so that's why you see the black ink.

Here are the supplies I used:  Neenah white card, MS gold & white patterned paper, green & gold Glitzy paper, transparency paper, MFT Die-namics rolled rose, mini rolled roses, large hybrid heirloom rose, Taylored Expressions Party banner cutting plate & leafy branch, La-La Land Crafts Open leaf flourish, black Staz-on ink, gem brads.

I enjoyed making this card and now Delaram wants to learn how to make the roses!  Funny, she didn't believe me when I told her I made them.  I said well I guess I'll just have to show you huh?!  She's excited to learn and I think that is cool.  :)  Thinking that having a bunch of these cards will definitely come in handy.  Hmmm, something to think about.  Well that's all I have for today.  Thanks again for stopping by!  Have a terrific day!!

A Soccer Card for Brendan

Hello everyone!!

Did you hear the exciting news at Sister Stamps?  If you haven't pop on over there and check it out!!  Very happy news, congratulations to Denise & Jenny!  If you'd like to help them reach their goal go and support them by buying a tee shirt.  All the details are on the Sister Stamps blog.

On Saturday we celebrated my godson's birthday.  It was a soccer theme and as with all his birthday cards since he was 1 I've always tried to stick to the theme.  I'm actually pretty stoked with how it turned out and hopefully will not have to do another one like this any time soon.  lol..

Brendan's 7th Birthday Soccer card

The image is from Saturated Canary and I believe it's now retired.  Sorry I don't see it in the store anymore.  What I loved about this image was he looks totally like Brendan!!  Hahaha!  I have had the tag colored up for a couple of months trying to figure out when I would put it on something and figured his birthday was as good a time as any, and with the soccer theme for the party it was perfect! Now of course me being the procrastinator, I finished this card about 15 minutes before I left for the party.  Yep that's me, waiting until the very last possible minute to finish!  hahaha!  I did have a little bit of trouble balancing the card, it kept rolling towards the left.  So I wracked my brain for a way to counter balance and this is what I came up with...

Once I added the large button and then put the soccer ball on top it balanced!  Woo Hoo!!  I was so relieved because I really did not want to make another card.  (lol)

Here is a list of the supplies I used that are not mentioned above:  Circle card from Paper Source, Neenah black & white cardstock, Spellbinders Hexagons (used the 2nd smallest one), MFT Dienamics All-Star, retired All Star clear stamp & Stitched Traditional Tag Stax, CC Designs Cutter Bubble Number die & AmyR Stamps Great Birthday Greetings stamp, Recollections button, Staz-on blue ink, transparency paper, foam squares and double sided tape.

It was a fun party, lots of kids and yummy food, but most of all a great time spending it celebrating a special little boy who's growing up way too fast.  I can't believe in only a few more days it'll be Thanksgiving and then all the major craziness happens.  hahaha!  Can't wait!!  Okie dokes have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Thank you Thursday

Hello!!

Hope you're all doing well.  It's been a while so thought I'd share some pics of my latest cards. Today should be a very short post. ^.^  My mom needed some "masculine" thank you cards, apparently all the Thank you cards I have are not manly enough!  hahaha!  Now not sure if these would be considered "manly" but she was happy with them.  Whew!  hahaha!

Quick and simple.  1 sheet of cardstock for the card bases, 1/2 sheet of cardstock for the mattes, two sheets of patterned paper (Kaiser Craft Seaside collection) and two laser cut sentiments make the perfect thank you cards for anyone even if the pattern is floral or in this case, Aloha print.  Thinking I definitely need to add more of these to my stash for future requests.  Best thing is they mail flat, so saves on postage.  :)

See done!  (hehe)  Mahalo for stopping by today!  Have a terrific Thursday!!

Fall Secret Sister Swap

Hey!

Today's card is for my November secret sister swap.  Our theme was Fall and I think I nailed it!

I chose to ink up Swiss Pixie Rainy Day Birgitta.  She seemed like the perfect image for my card.  I added some die cuts in both paper and burlap to give it more of a rustic feel.  I found the papers in my stash and thought the colors were also a perfect match for Fall.   The dark green was something I wanted to add for a bit of contrast.

Dies used;
Spellbinders, Label Four | CC Cutters: Acorn set & mushroom border | Taylored Expressions: Mini leaves | La-La Land Crafts: Heart banner & Lattice doily border | MFT: Dienamics High Rise Alphabets.

For the inside of the card I added some of the autumn paper and left over mushrooms, acorn and leaf die cuts to the bottom.  I left the sentiment off, thinking my swap partner could add whatever she wanted to add.  Since I hardly add anything to the inside but a stamped or computer generated sentiment it was a lot of fun to add something more.

Swiss Pixie Rainy Day Birgitta

I'm going to include some other crafty goodies for my swap partner, which I hope she'll be able to use for any upcoming projects.  If any of you would like to participate in this resurrected monthly Secret Sister Swap please leave a message in the comments section with your email address and I'll pass it on to our coordinator.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!!

Birthday cards for my stash

Hey everyone!

Today I have two random birthday cards to share.  One very feminine and one masculine.  Always nice to have these in my stash.  This is going to be a pretty short post as all I have are 4 pictures.

Using some flowers from my stash, the card above has a lot of different fun textures.  Even the flowers are made of different materials.  The card below was simple and quick, love those kinds of cards.

And there you have it!  hahaha!  Short and sweet today.  Happy Thursday friends.  Make it a great one!!

Cheers Jenny!

Well hello!!

Today I have a special birthday card to share.  I made it for my friend, Jenny, who also happens to be my co-worker.  Her birthday was on Saturday, and we celebrated at work yesterday.  This year I had to try to out-do what I made for her last year, and I think I did.  She's a pretty simple gal, loves purple, silver and tons of sparkle.  I wanted to make something fun, yet pretty and I think I got it right.

Squeal!!  Yes I actually love this!!  I was wracking my brain for inspiration when I decided on this stamp.  Eveyrthing came together in the wee hours of the night, just like they always do for me.  This gal is part of a duo from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls line, Victoria and Juliette's Night Out.  Here is the original stamped image:

Not sure who is who, so I'll say Victoria is the one in the green and Juliette is the one in blue.  If it's vice-versa my bad.  hahaha.   I inked up Juliette more than Victoria but of course couldn't help but get some ink on Victoria so using a wet paper towel I wiped away some of those inked parts including parts of Juliette's arm.  No worries though, because after I colored her I used a multi-liner pen to connect the dots so to speak.

Here you'll be able to see all the sparkle!!  I used my WOS clear glitter brush pen on the ruffles of her dress, her heels and the liquid in her martini glass.  I have to say this image is totally Jenny! hahaha... She was so surprised , yay!!   Here's another angle of all the sparkle going on and a glimpse of the roses.  I also doodled on the background, there was just too much white space for my taste.

Here are the dies & punch I used for this card:
La-La Land Crafts: Open leaf flourish | CC Designs Cutters: Rolling Rose | MFT: Die-namics Mini rolled roses | EK Crafts photo corner punch

I'm so happy with how the above arrangement came together, but man it was a little bit of a pain to get right.  I still see some flaws with the purple buds, but ya know what?  It's ok!!  hahaha!  I kept the inserts from the leaves intact because I love that white-silver paper, didn't want to waste it at all.  The pearl started off as a white stick pin that I colored with V15, then I clipped off the needle part.  I'm so in love with the glitter paper, makes the roses really stand out.  They look beautiful IRL.

Cheers!

Hooray for another well received card.  I'm not quite sure what I'll come up with next year, glad I have 355 days to think about it.  hahaha!  Well friends, thanks for stopping by today, "Cheers" to a fabulous Wednesday!!

Swiss Pixie Umbrella Lula

Hello!

Hope you're all having a nice weekend.  I had some time to make a card and am currently working on a couple projects for a few swaps I'm participating in.  It is nice to get back to creating.

Today I have a card using some new dies, lots of white and a few other colors.  I turned it into a get well card.  I don't have very many of those in my stash.  I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Ever start something not knowing how it would end?  I think that's how this card came to be.  I wasn't really sure what I would make with it I just knew that I wanted to use Swiss Pixie Umbrella Lula. The end result really makes me smile and I think it would make the recipient feel so much better.  :)

I used the following dies and embossing folder:

Spellbinders Deckled rectangles, CC Designs Cutters: Clouds, grass border, hydrangeas, vine; The Greeting Farm fence die; Crafter's Companion 6x6 Clouds embossing folder.  Also added white half pearls, a giant white doily and a computer generated sentiment I cut in to a banner.

Umbrella Lula

Well that's all I have to share today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!  See you soon!!

KBD - Aloha Friday Challenge #36

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!!

Hope you're all ready for a fun new challenge.  Here's the challenge for the next two weeks:

CHALLENGE #36
SPORTS/ENCOURAGEMENT

Our amazing sponsor is:  Digital Stamps by KennyK.

For all the details of the challenge please hop on over to the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday challenge page.  While you are there check out the awesome projects from my Team Bees #1 teammates.  They rocked their own projects, as always.

Swing Batter!

Today my card is pretty CAS.  I printed out this image I've had for quite some time.  You might remember, or not, the softball book I made a couple years ago using this image, Girl Batter.  I thought it would be fun to make a simple card using pinks and blacks.  As this can be a dual challenge I combined the encouraging sentiment with this sports image to make for a homerun, or maybe a double.  hahaha!  I found the quote from the great LA Dodger manager, Tommy Lasorda, on the internet.  In case you can't read my handwriting it says,
"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in the person's determination." - Tommy Lasorda
I thought what a great encouraging quote and added it to the front of the card.  I have someone in mind for this card, but she'll have to wait to get it when her softball season starts up.

Hope to see some of you join this challenge for the next two weeks.  Have a great Aloha Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

KBD - Monday Monthly Spotlight

Hello everyone!

Happy Monday!  Today is the first Monday of the month and I'm up for a spotlight on the Kitty Bee Designs blog.  Today I'm sharing an up-cycle project featuring the sweet Giraffe Cutie digital stamp. I had a lot of fun with this project and love the end result.

This is one of those treat bags one of my swap partners sent to me.  That is why you see the creases towards the top of the bag.  I thought it would be fun to keep the bag and maybe use it for a project.  I guess it is a little rough around the edges, but the rest of it came out the way I had hoped.  Here's a close-up.  This shot looks a lot better!  (hahaha)

I reallyl can't believe I made this!  (hahaha)  Talk about going out side the box.  I'm pretty stoked with the end result.  After printing out Giraffe cutie I colored and fussy cut her out.  I thought it would be cute to add the pink and white floss as a bow on her.  I used the same floss for the tag.  I used several dies for this section.  Here is the list: rolling rose from CC Designs, designer mini tags & mini leaves from Taylored Expressions, and the following Die-namics from MFT: mini rolled roses, chevron stripes & grosgrain texture board, and lastly from Little B: circle and scallop dies.  I also used a swiss dot embossing folder on the white circle die.  In the center of at least 3 of the roses are half pearls.  The sentiment was handwritten by me.

Hello Little One

If you would like to purchase Giraffe cutie you can pick him/her up in the Kitty Bee Designs etsy store along with a few other adorable images created by our AWEmazing owner Ruth.  I know there are a couple more giraffes I would love to pick up to make some other baby projects and with the holidays upon us there are tons of cute images to create that special project with.  If you're not in to giraffes, there are a ton of other adorable images you can choose from, including a whole bunch of new and fun animals.  Can't wait to see what you all make!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed my project and will think about upcycling something to turn it in to something new.  Until next time, have a great Monday & enjoy your November days!!
