Lilo's Fun Friday #92

Hello!!

Happy Late Aloha Friday!  Hope you're all having a great day!

For Lilo's Fun Friday #92 I'm continuing with my calendar shares of Amelia from the Greeting Farm.  I honestly have not been working on anything else. lol.  I've got some other projects in the works and if I finish them I'll be sharing, but for now I hope you're not getting tired of seeing Amelia.  I sure am NOT.  hahaha!

I previously used Amelia OA - Summer Fun in this calendar.  I originally had her colored up way different than what she is now.  Fuchsia hair, green and purple swimsuit, it was pretty bad, (hahaha).  I had to put her aside, but went back to her to give her a makeover.  After choosing this origami paper I decided to go for a different colored hair and outfit and I have to say the transformation is so much better than the original.  Love how Copic markers can do that!!  So after coloring her hair that pretty shade of orange I decided to paper piece her outfit and hair barrettes.  They were the perfect combo.  Instead of a laser cut sentiment I chose one from a well-loved AmyR stamp set.  The rest was put together very quickly.

Amelia (OA Summer Fun)

Okie dokes, hoping you all have a fantastik Friday and weekend!  I'm looking forward to some more crafting time.  Mahalo for stopping by!

TBT - Happy Day Calendar

Hello!

For today's Throwback Thursday post I picked another way back when Amelia from The Greeting Farm OA Happy Day stamp set.  And guess what?!  I made another calendar with her.  hahaha!  I know, I know.  hahaha!  I'm slowly whittling away the big stack...

Each time I see her I always picture pink hair!!  Not just any shade of pink, but a light pink.  I think I pulled it off.  I colored the rest of her with greens, blues and yellows.  She is a doll and totally reminds me of a Harujuku girl.  hehe.  I used another of the washi papers my dear cousin SharGD sent to me and happy with another CAS result.  The sentiment is another Island Scrapbooking laser cut phrase which I colored to match her boots.

Hope you all have a terrific Thursday!  Thank you for stopping by!

My Favorite Thing Amelia calendar

Hello!

I've been having fun making up some mini calendars with my considerable amount of washi papers, 2015 calendars and the different Amelia stamps from The Greeting Farm.  Here's the newest one I've completed...

This is Amelia from the OA - My Favorite Thing stamp set.  I colored her with Copics, fun cut her out with a white border and glued her down flat for easy mailing.  That pretty washi paper is from the stash my cousin SharGD sent to me.  Let me say that she sent me a bunch of washi paper, so it will take some time to get through all of them.  I don't mind, it'll be fun to see what I can do with each of them.

Amelia - OA-MFT

Well nothing like a very short post to get the day started right.  Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!  Appreciate you stopping by!

Happy Amelia calendar & some winners!

Hello and Happy Sunday!

Today I have a happy calendar to share.  Hopefully it will make you smile...

Featuring another Amelia stamped image from the Greeting Farm (OA -Summer Fun), a Heidi Swapp die-cut word, and some fun washi paper this calendar was a whole lot of fun to put together.  The koi washi paper was gifted to me from my cousin SharGD (thanks Maine!) and I thought it would make the cutest back drop for this sweet summer fun Amelia.  After coloring her with Copics and fun cutting her with a white border I glued her down flat to make it seem like she's wading in the water and the fish are nibbling at her toes.  I cut out a few extra fish and positioned them around her feet.  She's giggling because they are tickling her toes.  (hahaha)

LFF #91 - Amelia Ahoy Calendar

Hello!

My 1000th post candy giveaway ends today.  Be sure to leave a comment HERE. The winners will be announced on Sunday.

For today's Lilo's Fun Friday I thought I'd share another CAS calendar.  This one features an older TGF stamp from the OA - Ahoy set.

I've always thought of Amelia as a little anime girl, especially with all her cute outfits.  Too bad we haven't seen a new one in quite some time.  Hoping to see more soon.  The Copics colors on Amelia were pulled from the pretty washi paper in the background.  I'm not sure you can tell but there is a very soft blue on it, that is where I pulled the blue on her outfit from.  The sentiment is a Lawn Fawn word die, I cut up with two different colors so that there was a little shadow.  All papers are from Hanko Designs except for the very dark/magenta pieces, those are scraps from my stash and of course the Taylored Expressions 2015 calendar.

Amelia OA - Ahoy

I've stamped and colored up a few more Amelia's in hopes of putting them on a few more calendar cards and sending them out.  I honestly do not need any more calendars.  hahaha!  Before I sign off I wanted to say a big MAHALO to Lynn from Lynn's Craft Blog.  I was the lucky winner in her surprise candy.  She sent me this awesome RAK.

If you need some crafty inspirations or need some ideas on gifts for others stop by Lynn's blog, she's got a ton and sometimes you'll see her post recipes and the beautiful photos of her trips around the world.  Thank you Lynn, it's always nice to stop by your blog because you share not only the project but you give details about the products that you use.  I hope when I visit the Big Island I get a chance to meet you in person.  Mahalo!!  And Mahalo to you for stopping by!!  Happy Aloha Friday!

PS - Don't forget you have one more week to link up your Summer Fun projects for our current Aloha Friday Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs.  Today the second half of the Bees are sharing their mid-inspirations.

TBT - Travel Anya calendar

Hi!

Today I have a fun and quick post for this Throw Back Thursday.  I have a ton of 2015 calendars that I inherited from my cousin, (thanks Shar!) and I decided I should try to make use of them.  So last night I was putting away some of my TGF stamps and came across this retired stamp called Travel Anya.  An idea came to mind and I decided to it would be perfect with a calendar attached.

I have to say I love this one!  Turning this in to a CAS Hawaiian themed traveling card/calendar was fun.  The Aloha print paper was sitting on my table from another project and the Mahalo sentiment is a laser cut from Island Scrapbooking (from my stash) that I colored to match one of the flowers on the paper.  I think anytime you use a busy paper like that one you need to do as little as possible around it.  I tilted the sentiment on it's side because it was going off the paper.  After fun-cutting her out I glued her down, no pop dots so that this could be mailed flat.

I have a friend who has a SIL that works for Hawaiian Airlines.  Maybe I'll give this one to her to give to her SIL. ^.^

One calendar down 27 more to go...  If any of you would like some, I don't mind sharing just let me know in the comments section.  I don't mind mailing them as long as it's within the US.

Travel Anya (Retired - TGF)

I'm going to enter this in the monthly TGF FFF challenge of Red, White & Blue for my second submission.

Thanks for stopping by!

June Secret Sister Swap

Hello!

Today I wanted to share my June Secret Sister Swap.  The theme was summer fun.  My partner was Cyndi Kim.  I know she's been missing Hawai'i so I thought I'd make her a Hawaiian themed frame.

I was super tempted to keep this one, but I knew Cyndi would love it so off it went.  I broke down and cut in to some hoarded Aloha print patterned paper for this one.  I think next time I won't use the white gesso, it washed out the beautiful colors on the papers too much.  I had pictured something else in my mind, but alas once it went down there was no going back.  Again another learning experience.  The computer generated sentiment was printed on vellum paper and glued down.  It says, "No matter how far you go, Hawai'i will always be in your soul"

The kiddie images are Pua & Kaleo from Sisters Stamps.  I paper pieced their outfits using scraps from one of the orange patterned papers.  Fun cut them out and glued them down flat on to the bottom of the frame.  The hibiscus flowers and leaves were stamped and cut using one of my favorite (sadly discontinued) MFT stamp and die sets.  I finally got to use them.  Yay!  The Aloha is actually a cut up Island Scrapbooking word.  I cut each letter separately and glued them down on top of the flowers.  The flowers were staggered and popped up with pop dots so that I could do a layered effect.  I think I pulled off the vintage look I was going for, but need to figure out something else instead of the white gesso if I'm going to try this one again.

Not only was Cyndi my swap partner, but she was my secret sister!  Here are the adorable altered clothes pins she made for me and some fun RAKs that came with the package...

Funny story, I saw these on IG and told her they were cute and lo and behold they were for me!  hahaha!  She is so darn creative, always altering things into something fun, cute and functional.  Right now these are on the fridge.  Thanks again Cyndi!!

If you're interested in being a part of a fun group of swap sisters just leave a message in the comments section and I'll forward it on to our organizer, Kathy Dinh.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Aloha Friday Challenge #52 - Summer Fun

Hello!

It's been a long week and definitely a TGIF kinda day.  Today is also the first day of a brand new challenge over at the Aloha Friday Challenge blog!!  Woo Hoo!!  You've got two weeks to link up with us for this super easy theme:

CHALLENGE #52 - SUMMER FUN!
Create a project with a summer theme
Prize: Click HERE to find out
7/17/15 - 7/31/15

Stop by the blog to see all the details and make sure to stop by the DT blogs showcasing their summer fun themed projects and leave them some love.  Here's my project:

When I think of summer fun I think of the beach.  Riding bikes down the pathway, having some shave ice, flying a kite or swimming in the ocean.  If I had a little more room I would have loved to have put in a volleyball court.  hahaha!  In this scene I captured all of those activities using a few of the Kitty Bee Design images.  Most of this was colored with Copic markers and a small part with Distress inks.  Going clockwise from the left, first up taking a nice leisurly ride is Bike Panda, next way out in the ocean surfing is Narwhal Love, coming in a little closer on the sand enjoying the nice breeze and flying his kite is Kite Panda, and last, enjoying a snow cone is Shave Ice Bun.  Also used a LLLC stitched sun & cloud die and two AmyR sentiments which I wet embossed with clear powder.

Hope we see your project in the linky.  This one should be a lot of fun.   Thanks again for stopping by!  Have a fabulous Aloha Friday and weekend!!

Throwback Thursday - Y&FH postcards

Hello!!

Today's Throwback Thursday post features two discontinued images from Y&FH.  Both were added to two more postcards.

First up is Summer Fumi.  I paper pieced her top with a small piece of washi paper, love the pattern.  The sentiment is a combination of an Island Scrapbooking sentiment that I colored with Copics and an MFT stamp that I clear embossed.  Because I wanted to use these as postcards I did this to the back:

Looks legit right?  When I mail it I'm hoping to keep it in a plastic sealed bag, wonder if I need to put the stamp on the outside?  I'd really hate to have it ruined before it arrives at it's destination. =/  I'll ask my friend to ask her mom who works for the post office for advice.  Next up is one of my favorites featuring Summer Chuckles...

I love the colors on this one.  The sentiment is another combination of a laser cut word from Island Scrapbooking and an AmyR sentiment.

If I look at him sideways he looks a little like Kelly Slater!!  hahaha!

GIVEAWAY TIME!!!

Before I sign off I wanted to announce that according to Blogger this is my 1000th post!  Woo Hoo!

Water boy or Sky diver? Both!

Hello!

I've been having fun with my new crop of Sister Stamps images.  They arrived from Hanko Designs on Friday (Thanks Norm!) and I could not wait to ink them all up.  The DT did such a wonderful job with each of the stamps and one of the things I loved most was when they paired them up with the sea creatures from the earlier releases.  I wanted to do the same for this postcard and chose to use one of the dolphins.

The image on the left is Makai and the other is one of the dolphins from the Dolphin set.  They are both very happy to see one another.  The sentiment is an old one from AmyR for CC Designs and I used a Lawn Fawn hello die.   While I was coloring Makai up I thought to myself, Hmmm,,, he looks like he could be skydiving, sooooo...

Ok, so I love how this turned out!  What a difference to transform from one to the other.  I used a Copic black marker to color in a skydiving outfit for Makai.  The clouds were easily created with Distress inks and a cloud stencil.  Used a speech bubble die to cut out the speech bubble and lastly, I hand wrote the sentiment inside.  This is one versatile kid.  hahaha!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I've got something up my sleeve for the next post, hope you'll come by to see what it is.  TTFN!!

LFF #91 - More postcards

Hello!

Today for Lilo's Fun Friday #91 I thought I'd share a few more of those postcards I have been working on.  Hope you're not getting too tired of seeing them.  I'm just happy to be sharing.  The backgrounds on the ones below were done on Canson water color paper, using the same Hero Arts stencil, different Distress Ink pads & some water.  The only elements not colored with Distress inks are the images & sentiments.  The images were pre-colored during the 1st #thedailymarker30daycoloringchallenge a few months ago and the sentiments are laser cut words from Island Scrapbooking.  I'm kinda stoked with the results...

I used two of the Hawaiian keiki from the last Sister Stamps release.  These were part of my colored images from the #30daychallenge.  I'm so happy that I am now able to add them to these postcards.  First up is Kaleo.  Below is Pua.  I love the colors on both of these cards.  First the fiery red/orange and below a cool, mellow greenish-yellow; both with touches of dark brown.  I really love the white border around the colored areas it gives it a nice clean finished look.

Both images were colored with Copics and then fun-cut with a white border.  Everything is glued down flat for easy shipping.  I really am enjoying the CAS design.  I have just a few more left to share.  Until then, have a fabulous Friday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Throwback Thursday image day

Hello!

Going to try to give some neglected/discontinued older stamps some love by posting on what everyone calls Throwback Thursday.  Today I'm going to share another postcard with a Throwback TGF & Y&FH image(s).

Do you all remember this fun in the sun Anya?  She's from the Sunshine set that seems to be discontinued.  The sentiment is also part of the set.  I colored her with Copics giving her a tan, or sunburn depending on what you see, hahaha!  Do you see the surfboard peeking out from behind her?  Well that is also a discontinued throwback image from the Tiki Surf set from Y&FH.  Using Copic markers I doodled some flowers on to the surfboard.  The sentiment was heat embossed.  I loved the colors I used for the background and was glad I was able to use similar colors in Copics.  I think I have more than enough images to keep me occupied for Thursdays.  hahaha!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Red, White & Blue Day Out

Hello!

It's been a while since I participated in a challenge, so I hopped on over to the TGF blog to see what the current monthly challenge is, red, white and blue.  Oh that is an easy peasy one.  I was flipping through some stamps to see which one I wanted to use when I realized that I had not inked up this Anya from TGF.  This sweet Anya is called Day Out.  I saved on time and paper pieced her beret and skirt.  The other parts were colored with Copics.  I chose a simple design with a few pieces of cardstock liking how much white was left.  The half circle is a die cut from Little Darlings and the sentiments are laser cut words from Island Scrapbooking.  The cool thing about the words is being able to cut the words or letters and as long as you trim them you can make a fun sentiment like I did.  Now I have another birthday card to add to my ever growing stash, woo hoo!

KBD July Spotlight

Hi everyone!!

Today I'm spotlighting this card on the Kitty Bee Designs blog!!

This card was created with the adorable Cupcake Surprise Pup!  I have used this pup for a few of my cards, he's just so darn cute and perfect for any birthday card.  This time around I colored him up with some spots, including a heart spot right above his eyebrow.  I also colored the cupcake really bright, not as bright as the dp, but bright enough.  :D  This is the third card that was sent to my SSS for May.  Those cool words were cut out with some new Mama Elephant word dies and I love how I can overlap the image but not take anything away from it.

Don't forget about our current challenge, click HERE for more details.  You can use any image but why not stop by the KBD Etsy store to choose one of ours instead?  You won't be disappointed.

TGF Mermaids

Hello!

Hope you all enjoyed a nice and safe 4th of July.  It was quite loud and colorful in our area.  With the drought & mandatory water restrictions I'm very surprised the Governor/Mayor has not banned fireworks throughout California except for the ones that are displayed by professionals.  Just sayin'...

Continuing on with my water-color postcards I picked the mermaids from TGF.  This first one I colored the image back in May.  The second one I just completed today.  Both of these were fun to put together.  Keeping both CAS was the key.

I added the Island Scrapbooking laser cut sentiment with the MFT sentiment right below it.  Colored the Aloha with an ombre effect using two different Copic colors. I really like the background on this one, and that pop of pink gives it that fun element.

Here the colors are bolder, but still fun.  I'm so happy I remembered this mermaid, she's still one of my favorites.  The sentiment is also another Island Scrapbooking laser cut word that I colored with Copics.  Two more under my belt and I'm happy with them both.  I worked on more today so will be sharing them over the next few days.  Until then, enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!

Red, White & Blue

Morning!  Sending wishes for a safe & enjoyable Independence Day!

This is definitely not your traditional Independence day themed card, but because I used red, white and blue I deem it is. hahaha!  It's a postcard I made using the same technique on the background that I shared here.  I colored Pua from Sister Stamps during #thedailymarker30daychallenge a few months back and I finally get to share her on a card.  She is inked up with Copic markers & fun cut out, boy was this one a doosie!   The Aloha sentiment is a laser cut word from Island Scrapbooking and I think it adds a nice touch to the CAS design I was going for.

God bless our troops, families and friends but most of all bless the USA!!  Thanks for stopping by!

More Underwater Fun

Hello!!!

Holy cow, it's July 1st!!  I cannot even remember what happened in June!  I wish time would slow down, because in no time it will be Dec!  Eep!!   Well I'm not inviting Dec in yet, let's just continue to enjoy July and the summer!  Here's the 2nd watercolor post card I made with the third turtle from Sister Stamps.  The stencil is the same, fyi the stencil is the same for all of the postcards, and I wanted to continue with the under water color scheme.

Sorry my photo skills for this one were way off!  It gets better, just wanted to show the single turtle...

I colored this one with Distress inks too, looks much better.  I also spritzed some water drops, it's a pretty cool effect.  Last was adding another sentiment from the same Jillybean stamp set and using clear embossing powder to make it shiney.  I love the white border, makes it look like a snapshot.

Before I sign off I wanted to give a shout out to Sister Stamps!!  Hey ladies, congratulations on another amazingly kawaii release!!!   If you didn't notice yet, Jenny and the DT have been sharing the new adorable summer release images and I'm planning to head over to everyone's blog to catch up.  If you missed out head on over to the Sister Stamps blog.  I'll be back soon to share the rest of the postcards with my pre-colored images.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
